Bring your beloved pet—and invite a friend\, neighbor\, or family member—to this special celebration of the animals who bring so much joy\, companionship\, and love into our lives.  \n\n\n\nFollowing worship\, take some time to go home\, bring your pet back\, and join us in the back corner of the parking lot near the picnic tables. Each animal will be blessed by name as we give thanks for the gift\, they are in our lives and ask God’s blessing for their health\, happiness\, and long life.  \n\n\n\nEveryone is welcome! You don’t need to be a member of our church to participate. If you lovingly care for an animal and want to celebrate that special relationship\, we’d love to have you join us.  \n\n\n\nWhy do we bless animals? \n\n\n\nThe tradition of the Blessing of the Animals dates back nearly 800 years to Saint Francis of Assisi (1181–1226)\, who was known for his deep love and respect for all of God’s creation.  \n\n\n\nToday\, congregations around the world continue this tradition to celebrate God’s love and care for all creation—and to recognize the irreplaceable place animals hold in our lives.  \n\n\n\nCome celebrate\, give thanks\, and let us bless your furry\, feathered\, or four-legged family members!  \n\n\n\nThis event is hosted by Covenant Presbyterian Church. SUMMARY:Fall Mission Trip!!  A Week of Service and Rebuilding in New Bern\, N.C.
DESCRIPTION:Covenant is planning a mission trip to New Bern\, North Carolina\, from October 12–16\, 2026. This trip continues our long-term partnership with CCDRA\, the Coastal Carolina Disaster Resiliency Agency. Our team will stay at the Presbyterian Disaster Assistance Volunteer Village. New Bern is less than a five-hour drive from Woodbridge. It is a great opportunity to serve families who are still rebuilding after Hurricane Florence in 2018. Volunteers will help with flooring\, painting\, cleaning\, repairs\, and other rebuilding work. No special skills are needed.
